For years, popular DS emulators like DeSmuME and NO$GBA struggled to execute DSi binaries correctly. Because DSi mode required accurate emulation of the camera, extra RAM, and the SD card slot, most emulators defaulted to "DS Mode." This meant that even if you had a legitimate ROM of Pokémon Black 2, you were playing the inferior, slower version.
