If you were following the summer season’s most talked-about slice-of-life drama, Shounen ga Otona ni Natta Natsu (The Summer a Boy Became an Adult), you probably felt the whiplash from Episode 3.

C+ (Disjointed) Grade (Fixed Cut): A- (Poignant, precise, and painful)

Approximately 7 minutes and 22 seconds into the episode—during a pivotal emotional confession scene on a riverbed—a single frame of the animator’s raw desktop appeared. This included a Windows Explorer window, a partially saved .PSD file named mizuki_final_TEXT_v3.psd , and what appeared to be a post-it note reminder saying "Fix mouth movement at 08:30." This frame lasted only 0.04 seconds but was enough to completely break immersion.
