The game’s central mechanic revolves around "Debt Stacking." Every time you defeat an enemy, you don't just earn experience points (XP) or gold; you accrue "Gain." Gain multiplies your stats temporarily but also increases the damage you take from subsequent foes. The longer your win streak, the higher your Gain—and the closer you are to a catastrophic loss.
