The core loop of Subnautica is addictive. You scavenge materials (titanium, copper, quartz) to craft tools, which allow you to dive deeper, which grants access to rarer materials, which unlocks better vehicles.

Unlike many survival games, Subnautica has no guns and no minimap. You rely on scanners, cameras, and sonar to map resources. You’ll scavenge scrap metal, catch fish for water/food, build underwater bases, and craft submarines like the Seamoth and Cyclops . The progression feels rewarding: starting from collecting titanium fragments to piloting your own mobile base in the dark abyss.

The game is available on all major PC storefronts. While it was famously given away for free on the Epic Games Store years ago, it is now a paid title.
