The story begins with Jack (Nicholas Hoult), a young farm boy who trades his only cow for magic beans. When the beans start to grow into a giant beanstalk, Jack climbs it and encounters a giant named Gregory (Ian McShane). Jack befriends Gregory and learns that he is not a mindless beast, but a noble and kind-hearted giant who is misunderstood by humans.
The story follows (Nicholas Hoult), a young farmhand who accidentally opens a gateway between the human world and a mythical land of giants in the sky.
